Reading Day

Infant Jesus Central School, Thuvayoor, celebrated Reading Week and Reading Day with enthusiasm. On 17th June, students took part in a Book Reading Session, Quiz Competition, and Newspaper Reading Session. On 18th June, activities included a Colouring Competition, Drawing Competition, Book Review Writing Competition, and Reading Day Logo Design Competition.

Reading Day itself, on 19th June, opened with a special assembly honouring P.N. Panicker, father of Kerala's Library Movement. Students dressed as literary figures such as Vaikom Muhammad Basheer, Anne Frank, and Amrita Pritam. Highlights included a Book Donation Ceremony, prize distribution for the week's competitions, the Reading Day Pledge, a "Wall of Words – A Word of Wisdom" display of favourite quotes and passages, and a "Book of Readers" activity where students and teachers left thumbprints on a book-shaped artwork. The celebration reinforced the message "Read Today, Lead Tomorrow."
